Jeannine M. Brant, PhD, APRN-CNS, AOCN, FAAN


Jeannine M. Brant, PhD, APRN-CNS, AOCN, FAAN is an oncology clinical nurse specialist, pain consultant, palliative care team member, and Director/Lead Scientist for the Collaborative Science and Innovation Department at Billings Clinic in Montana. She is recognized as a community, regional, and national expert on pain, opioids, and opioid use disorder.  She has served on the CDC Opioid Guideline panel, the National Quality Forum Technical Expert Panel on opioids and opioid use disorder, and the National Academy of Medicine, Sciences, & Engineering topical analgesic panel. Dr. Brant’s clinical work and program of research includes improving patient symptoms, developing clinically applicable tools to gather patient-reported outcomes, and focusing indicators that lead to quality interdisciplinary care.  In her research Director role, Dr. Brant is lead investigator and/or oversees 35 studies that span population health needs, including cancer care, primary care, psychiatry, and other specialty services. She also leads a palliative care initiative globally working with Middle Eastern countries and China. Dr. Brant has more than 150 contributions to the literature and has lectured at more than 300 national and international seminars and symposia.
